MIAMI, May 4, 2017 – Aaron Groffman, president of healthcare consulting company The Ignition Group, will be a featured speaker at the Group Underwriters Association of America (GUAA) 2017 conference on May 22nd in Denver, CO. The GUAA is comprised of underwriting industry professionals that actively promote the study, analysis, and discussion of all matters relating to the underwriting of group insurance products.

Aaron’s breakout session, "Dental & Vision Better Together," will explore the trends affecting dental and vision insurance plans, the similarities and differences, and easy ways to leverage existing tools to expand dental and vision networks. Dental and vision benefits are often sold together and companies that compete in both markets, or just one, will find this information about network size, growth rates, and provider participation useful.

Aaron founded The Ignition Group in 2004. He is an industry veteran, educated at Wharton and the University of Miami, who ran marketing and competitive intelligence functions and built networks for divisions of Cigna and UnitedHealthGroup.

Demand for Provider Network Data Increased 13% Over Spring 2015

Posted by Susan Donegan on Thu, Oct 15, 2015 @ 02:10 PM

MIAMI, October 15, 2015 – NetMinder, the leading provider network comparison tool, powered by The Ignition Group, has completed its fall update of dental, vision, medical, and behavioral health provider networks. The number of networks analyzed grew by 13% for this update compared to our last data update in March 2015, reflecting the increased interest in provider networks due to the Affordable Care Act exchanges. Additionally, more providers are participating in networks than in the spring: the number of doctors and other medical professionals increased 4% and the number of dentists increased 9%. The new data is available to subscribers.

This fall update includes data on:

  • 870,500 doctors
  • 229,500 dentists
  • 56,500 eye care professionals
  • 603,000 other medical professionals (e.g. nurses, therapists)

NetMinder’s comprehensive network comparison data is updated twice a year, which entails collecting provider information from more than 450 networks nationally, validating the data accuracy with a comprehensive audit process, standardizing the data, and matching provider records across networks with a proprietary multi-step recursive algorithm. This data is delivered to clients through easy-to-use, powerful reporting tools to help recruit more providers, close more deals, and retain more clients.

Darrin Hall Nominated for 2015 NADP Gabryl Award for Leadership and Contributions to Research Commission

Posted by Susan Donegan on Tue, Sep 08, 2015 @ 10:05 AM

MIAMI, September 8, 2015 – Darrin Hall, product architect of healthcare consulting company The Ignition Group, has been nominated to receive the NADP Gabryl Award. The National Association of Dental Plans (NADP) created the prestigious Gabryl Award in 1997 to honor outstanding leadership and long-term contributions by an NADP volunteer. It is the association’s highest honor. The volunteers of NADP help to fulfill the mission of the association to promote and advance the dental benefits industry and improve consumer access to affordable, quality dental care.

NADP Gabryl Award recipients are nominated by other volunteers and selected by the Board of Directors. Darrin was nominated by the Research Commission for his leadership and guidance in adapting NADP’s research reports to provide more depth and granularity in response to a wide range of Affordable Care Act influences on the dental marketplace. His work and engagement were essential to preparing the Research Commission, and NADP, to respond to the more intense data needs of the dental benefits industry. Darrin was an active member of the Research Commission from 2002 – 2013, and served as the chair from 2009 – 2013.

“I am honored to be nominated for the Gabryl Award and pleased that my contributions have helped the association. It is a pleasure to work with other volunteers from across the dental benefits industry,” Darrin said.

Darrin has worked in a variety of roles in nearly every functional area of the industry during his 20+ years with Cigna Dental and Oral Health Services prior to joining The Ignition Group.

The National Association of Dental Plans (NADP), a Texas nonprofit corporation with headquarters in Dallas, is the "representative and recognized resource of the dental benefits industry." NADP is the only national trade organization that includes the full spectrum of dental benefits companies operating in the United States. NADP's members provide Dental HMO, Dental PPO, Dental Indemnity, and Discount Dental products to more than 163 million Americans, approximately 90 percent of all Americans with dental benefits.
