MIAMI, June 26, 2014 – Aaron Groffman, president of healthcare consulting company The Ignition Group, led a session in the National Association of Dental Plans 2014 Educational Webinar series. Aaron talked about the impact of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) on dental provider networks offered to enrollees and discussed how dental networks on the exchanges compare to non-exchange dental networks. The session, presented on June 25, 2014, included an interactive question and answer session.
In order to meet the competitive pricing demands of the healthcare exchanges, many participating health plans have introduced new, narrower provider networks, with fewer high-cost providers and hospitals. During the webinar, Aaron explored this narrow network trend and investigated whether dental networks are following similar patterns. Attendees left with a better understanding of the logic behind narrow networks and how the dental industry is affected by this trend.
Aaron will be diving deeper into this topic as a speaker at NADP’s Converge Conference 2014 in September. The session was recorded and is available for purchase, on the NADP Knowledge Center. Click here to access.
